Dave Mishalanie (Mission Viejo, CA 1978) is a painter living and working in Long Island City (Queens), NY.
Mishalanie’s work has been exhibited at Heidi Cho Gallery (New York, NY), Adam Baumgold Gallery (New York, NY), RH+ Gallery (Istanbul, Turkey), Heliopolis (Brooklyn, NY), UNT on the Square (Denton, TX). He mounted his first solo show in 2013 at Pratt @ Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute (Utica, NY), during which time he was also a guest lecturer and visiting artist. Mishalanie has been a guest speaker at the Rhode island School of Design. He was assistant professor to graduate seminars, and to two concurrent art theory courses focusing on a philosophy and a history of aesthetics. He was a nominee for a Fulbright travel grant (Greece), to research connections between ancient and contemporary epic themes in art.
Mishalanie received his BFA from RISD (Painting, 2000) and his MFA from Hunter College (Painting, 2009).
